Now in its 24th year, the OCFF conference is the key event for Ontario's folk, roots, and traditional music community. Spanning four days and three nights, it's a long weekend programmed to the hilt with provocative speakers, educational seminars, engaging roundtable discussions, informal meetings, performer showcases, and the best jam sessions outside of the festival circuit, all combining to make the OCFF conference an essential and inspiring experience for almost 800 attendees (including artistic directors, presenters, and provincial, national, and international industry organizations).

Upcoming conferences:
October 14 to 17, 2010, Ottawa, Ontario
October 13 to 16, 2011, Location TBA

OCFF members receive the lowest rate. Non-members are welcome to join the OCFF in order to receive member rates.

PRELIMINARY 2010 CONFERENCE SCHEDULE NOW AVAILABLE!

A preliminary conference schedule is now available for download. While we hope to keep changes to a minimum, please note that this schedule is subject to change, and should be used for general information purposes only.
New versions of the schedule will be uploaded here as they become available.

This competition, sponsored by Galaxie, highlights the talents of Ontario songwriters and provides an opportunity for the winners to showcase their work to festival presenters at the annual OCFF conference. Overall, one English and one French winner will be selected. In addition, fifteen nominations from the Songs From the Heart competition (not including the winners of the Galaxie Rising Stars Awards) are put forward by the OCFF to an Ontario Arts Council (OAC) selection panel, for consideration for the Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ottawa will be hosting the conference, and the OCFF will have a block of rooms available for delegates at a room rate of $129/night.  Anyone wishing to receive this rate will first need to register for the conference.

Hotel room reservation requests will be made directly with the Crowne Plaza Hotel, by calling the OCFF's reservations agent, Jennifer Rose, at 613-237-3600, ext. 6239. You will be asked to provide your Confirmation Number in order to request a hotel room reservation:

  • If you sent in a completed Conference Registration form, you will receive the confirmation number by e-mail from the OCFF.
  • If you purchased your conference registration online through the Shopping Cart, you will receive confirmation by e-mail, containing an "Order Number". This is your confirmation number.

PLEASE NOTE: The only variance to this system of booking hotel rooms will be in the case of the two “Music Floors”, which are reserved for Private Showcases.  Anyone wishing to present a private showcase will be required to complete a Private Showcase Application, which will be processed by the OCFF, and then to complete and submit a Hotel Reservation Request form. The private showcase application process will be launched in June.
